From Mississippi and was missing a m.o.p burger and hungry. It's what I've had since a wee lad. They more than delivered. Not only awesome spot on food with the burger but the brisket!? Oh...didn't know I was missing that in meats. Freaking awesome. Lulu loved it as well. Wife had the poutine along with other sides and was ecstatic to put it politely. All of the good food aside. The atmosphere was just right if that makes sense. Owners themselves that I didn't even know were the owners kept me company as I waited for my order to be done. VERY good people. Stopped into River City Ale House in Dixon and this place does NOT mess around. The Mac Burger? Ridiculous—in the best way. Loaded, messy, and exactly what you want when you order something like that. And the Reuben… smoked for 10 hours. You can taste it immediately. Tender, packed with flavor, and actually done right—not rushed like most places. This is one of those spots where the food speaks for itself. No gimmicks, just solid execution. I’d come back without hesitation. HighSteaks approved.
